Today, I was in two minds as to whether the weather would hold up or not - and so I decided to do some work that I can inside the garage (albeit with the door open).
The first thing I did was to cut all the cable ties, and glue the cable tie holders (that keep the front wiring in place) down with Sikaflex. I then put some spiral-bind plastic around all the exposed wires:
After the Sikaflex had started to hold the wires in place (it did take a while to thread everything through the plastic), I cable tied most of them down (a couple of cable tie holders started to lift, so I left them alone - I'll get them later!)
And then as an encore, I cut the front brake cables, and put the screw-on connectors in place (otherwise they would've been far too long):
I've left them a little long now; I need to get the car out of the garage so I can see how the wheels turn and if the cables interfere with anything.
While it doesn't look like much was done, both of these operations required a lot of thought, and practice to finish them off - the first stage was about 4 hours, and the second about an hour and a half. I'll thread the spiral plastic stuff over the rear of the car the next time it's out.
